Minutes February 28th, by Ruth Weaver because Grace Kelley is, sadly, sick... :(
12:20 Evan isn’t here yet but Katrina got people spoons and that’s very kind of her. Should be recognized. 12:22 Evan is here! Also, Jack LeBlanc has given an executive order for us to go on instagram to petition for a tomato to be named Mr. Davis (because Mr. Davis is wonderful) 12:24 On This Day: First televised basketball game- Fordham University vs University of Pittsburgh, 50-37 12:26 Service and Spirit every Thursday from now on in Mrs. Turner’s directed study! Thanks to Avery for the announcement- also, book drive is still happening! Boxes in Turner and in Johnson. Costume info will be given later, and this month we will be having an after school Spirit party. 12:29 Davis gives us the new info on states. Convention cost is $170, permission slips and money must be turned in by March 23rd. It’s going to be a really good time. Also, we should probably take a coach so that we can bring the chariot. 12:31 Everybody’s being loud, state forms are probably being given out by next week. Let the badgering begin! 12:32 Jacob takes the floor. Scholarship to go to Nationals: one person gets it, anybody can send it in. Next week there will be a vote for that, people who want to apply will have the chance to. There are other scholarships available on NJCL as the Griffin Meadows scholarship is limited to Massachusetts and only to one person. 12:33 March 16, Friday, meeting on states and candidates: we could do it after school, but we would need a chaperone. That’s a half day, so there’s a bit of confusion- ok, probably not the 16th. Much confusion 12:37 Forms are done! Group chat will receive the link and others can get it emailed or look in the JCL drive. State candidacy forms, by the way- very important, very exciting! About two weeks or slightly more to get those in, folks. 12:38 Publicity Video! 80s spinoff workout video for Latin would be very funny and relatively easy to do, we just need ideas, script, and a date to film. Sam will be working on the script because it’s community outreach, which is exciting! 12:39 Social Media is a cool thing to do! That includes twitter- but only one person has access, and the password does not work. 12:42 Worm and Olympika are going to be a really big thing this year! We can get together a worm team quite easily and maybe even some practice stuff. Chariot teams are also good because we can start practicing soon. Chariot announcement with Cole: Chariot is mostly constructed, but decoration is also a huge part! Colette’s logo for our school could go on it, and maybe two mythical creatures, or the Greylock G, etc. 12:44 Argument about Mounties vs Mountaineers. Apparently we are actually Mountaineers, but some sports announcer decided that Mounties is easier to say, so there you go. Thanks, Mr. Davis. 12:46 Meeting is done, according to Jack, but Evan also left, so we’re good.

Lupercalia Meeting Meeting
16 February 2018 12:22-12:23: Evan arrives! 12:23-12:25: Jacob makes an announcement about Praetoria. 12:25-12:27: Okay! On this day! It is a picture of Evan and James Franco put together! “It’s the next Mr. Davis!” It is actually Fidel Castro. He became Prime Minister today, I guess. 12:27: “Good job guys, on monday, at Greek Fair.” 12:28-12:34: Lupercalia was yesterday but we’re celebrating on the 31st! So never because February 31st doesn’t exist… We’re actually celebrating it on the 28th. Actually we may be doing something for Ides of March. 12:34-12:36: We got states paperwork. 12:36: Morgan did a thing! 12:37: Avery does her book drive announcement! After school service today is today. 12:38: “I feel like this meeting is going off the rails a bit.” -Alexander Davis, 16 February 2018. 12:39: Jacob does some announcements and Morgan lays on the floor. 12:40: “Evan what am I missing?” “Gina what am I missing?” Katrina has a thought! Fundraiser stuff. 12:42: Jacob does his thing. We have exactly one month to get in things for States after February Break, including candidates. We’re having one of those meetings. 12:43: We clap for Finn. 12:44: Meeting is adjourned. “Greek Fair!” Meeting
9 February 2018 12:24: Evan arrives and the meeting can begin. 12:24-12:26: Happy Bird Day! On this day picture is the Massachusetts state bird. Massachusetts is was claimed as a rebellious state by Britain. 12:26-12:33: Greek Fair is Tuesday! We go over all of the schedules and such. 12:33-12:37: Lupercalia is the 28th! We’re going to do a lot of fun stuff like (maybe) running of the wolves, certamen, regular meeting stuff for states. 12:37-12:42: Hane has extra stuff. February twelfth is the anniversary of Mrs. Keeley’s death and it would be great to wear purple. On a lighter note, we’re also going to make propaganda posters for JCL for outreach and publicity because it is, fun. 12:42-12:43: Avery does a service announcement about book drive and a directed study service party. 12:43-12:51: now we do our photo. 12:51: Meeting concludes late as Evan runs away from the photo. |
